This position is primarily responsible for providing a variety of cosmetic sales and related activities in order to ensure customer satisfaction and meet sales targets, in accordance with Sears policies, Mission, Vision and Values. This position also coordinates the activities of a team of Beauty Advisors for their counter or line. This includes:
• Using excellent customer service and selling skills at the cosmetic counter, to share product knowledge, promote new or related products, achieve sales targets, and increase market share;
• Supervising and managing the staff and operations of the specified cosmetic counter, including consulting with Business Development Lead and Associate Store Manager on staffing needs/schedules, participating in recruitment of new staff, participating in performance assessment, etc., to ensure exceptional customer service and maximization of revenues;
• Establishing and maintaining excellent customer relations, following up on satisfaction of purchases, maintaining client files, and notifying customers of up-coming events/promotions;
• Merchandising and re-stocking counter according to designated standards; Provide ongoing training/coaching to Beauty Advisors and other staff reporting for continuous improvement, including weekly update meetings with team and one on one, etc.
• Identify performance targets for Beauty Advisors, including sales targets, consultation targets, average transaction value targets, special event appointments, etc. Review and monitor achievement to ensure outstanding customer service.
• Consulting with customers and assessing their personal needs in order to provide beauty/cosmetic advice and guidance, including product demonstrations;
• Maintaining up-to-date product knowledge and awareness of trends, new products, advancements, etc., by attending Sears and vendor-sponsored training programs; and
• Organizing and implementing special event plans.
Success in this role calls for good customer service and selling skills, as well as skills in motivating and managing the activities of others. The ideal job candidate will have completed a one-year Apprenticeship program (or equivalent) in Cosmetology or Esthetics. Other qualifications for this job include:
• Knowledge of cosmetics, makeovers, esthetics, etc.
